Prize changes
The increasing participation and completions are beginning to exceed my capacity to provide prizes. The number of unredeemed prize credits also reveals that a majority of participants are in it primarily for the experience, not the prizes. It is fun to have some prizes, but some changes in the challenge are needed to keep it sustainable. Here is a summary of before/after changes in the prize schedule:
Challenge 2020 prizes 2021 prizes Medical Examiner Top ten by Toe Tag count At the close of the challenge, five active participants (chosen at random) may select a book from the prize list. Six Shooter One per target completion At the close of the challenge, five active participants (chosen at random) may select a book from the prize list. Beachcomber (not offered in 2020) At the close of the challenge, ten participants (chosen at random from those who have filled four beach bags), will receive a beach-related prize. Abra Cadavers Prizes not offered Prizes not offered Century Club Prizes not offered Prizes not offered In addition:
- Prizes awarded from Beachcomber, Medical Examiner, and Six Shooter will be mutually exclusive - that is, you can't win a prize from more than one challenge.
- Unredeemed prize credits do not expire and will still be valid.
- Prizes will be only be offered to USA addresses.
