How to:

  1. No advance signup needed, but you can if you like. See the form.
  2. Obtain the set of four BINGO cards. Here are some options:

  3. Refer to the cards as you read. Circle the items on the cards as you find them in your books. Move the cards to the next book when you finish the current book.
  4. Most of the items on the cards should be obvious. Note that on RED HERRINGS you just need to have the item occur in your book. It does not need to be plotted as an actual red herring.
  5. Submit the CALL BINGO FORM as you get BINGO on each card. This is on the honor system, you need not list or document your books, nor submit the cards themselves.
  6. You will get a table in the Bingo Hall upon your first Bingo.
  7. When you complete all four cards, you get a prize.
  8. Please note the Bingo Hall does not update in real time.

  1. Challenge runs Nov 24 2019 - Dec 31 2020. Plenty of time to jump in!
  2. You get to define what is a "murder mystery".
  3. Print books, audio books, radio dramatizations, short stories, or e-books may be used.
  4. Bingo may be found in any direction: vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
  5. Bingo cards may be completed in any order.
  6. You can make multiple bingo marks per book.
  7. You can work multiple sets of cards, so if you circle GUN on set #1, you can circle GUN on set #2 the next time one occurs in your readings. OR just find additional bingos on your existing cards to bingo it again (this should be easier, since some squares will already be marked). (See FAQ below).
  8. Bloggers are welcome to any images for your blog.
  9. Cross-entries from other challenges are encouraged.
  10. You can go paperless if you prefer. Save the individual cards on your mobile device and mark them up somehow.
